PRIDE FRISCO ANNOUNCES DETAILS OF UPCOMING PRIDE FESTIVAL

FRISCO, TX, September 26, 2023—Pride Frisco is proud to announce the initial slate of speakers, entertainment, and special guests for the second annual pride festival to be held at Toyota Stadium (9200 World Cup Way) on Sunday, October 22, 2023, from 1pm to 5pm in Frisco, Texas.

Announcements so far include keynote speakers Sara Cunningham (Free Mom Hugs), Liz Dyer (Real Mama Bears), and Mandy Giles (Parents of Trans Youth). Featured entertainers include Meow Wolf, Uptown Players, Oak Lawn Band, and the Dallas Wings “Flight Crew” dance squad.

The festival will feature food, music, art, vendors, a rock-climbing wall, interactive activities for all ages, local sports teams including FC Dallas, Dallas Wings, and Dallas Stars, and more. The ACLU, Lambda Legal, HRC, and many others will be on site to provide support and resources to the community.

“As a proud mom of a gay son, pride celebrations are especially meaningful to me. In addition to being a time to wholeheartedly celebrate the community, pride is also an opportunity to reflect on the hardships LGBTQIA+ people have endured over the years, remember all they have overcome and achieved, and recognize and recommit to the work that still needs to be done so all people can live as their true self without hesitation or fear.” —Liz Dyer, Real Mama Bears Founder

“LGBTQIA+ people need fierce advocates who are unafraid to journey shoulder-to-shoulder with us every day, motivated by a deep and abiding love for our community. I am excited for everyone to hear the stories of our speakers and know that they are not alone.” —Jon Culpepper, Pride Frisco Vice President

All ages are welcome. Parking, giveaway eligibility, and event entry are free. Security in and around Toyota Stadium will be significantly increased. Prior to stadium entry, security screening is required of all guests and will include bag checks and metal detectors. High attendance is expected. To expedite entry into the stadium, guests are asked to be prepared. Attendees can claim their free tickets and learn more information about the festival at pridefrisco.org.
